Terms Used In Iowa Code 124.417
- Controlled substance: means a drug, substance, or immediate precursor in schedules I through V of subchapter II of this chapter. See Iowa Code 124.101
- Manufacture: means the production, preparation, propagation, compounding, conversion, or processing of a controlled substance, either directly or by extraction from substances of natural origin, or independently by means of chemical synthesis, or by a combination of extraction and chemical synthesis, and includes any packaging or repackaging of the substance or labeling or relabeling of its container, except that this term does not include the preparation, compounding, packaging, or labeling of a controlled substance:a. - Practitioner: means either:
a. See Iowa Code 124.101It is not unlawful under this chapter for a person registered under section 124.302, to manufacture, deliver, or possess with the intent to manufacture or deliver, or to act with, one or more other persons to manufacture, deliver, or possess with the intent to manufacture or deliver an imitation controlled substance for use as a placebo by a registered practitioner in the course of professional practice or research. - Practitioner: means either:
