Terms Used In Iowa Code 144.41
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- State: means a state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Iowa Code 152E.3
When a certificate is amended under sections 144.38 through 144.40 the state registrar shall report the amendment to the custodian of any permanent local records and such records shall be amended accordingly.
