Funds appropriated to the Iowa school for the deaf for payments to the parents or guardians of pupils in that institution shall be expended as follows:
1. Transportation reimbursement at a rate established annually by the department to the parents or guardians of children who do not reside in the institution, but are transported to the institution on a daily basis.
Terms Used In Iowa Code 256.101
- Department: means the department of education. See Iowa Code 256.2
- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
- School: means an agency of the state or political subdivision of the state, individual, partnership, company, firm, society, trust, association, corporation, or any combination which meets any of the following criteria:a. See Iowa Code 261B.22. Transportation reimbursement at a rate established annually by the department to the parents or guardians for transportation from the institution to the residence of the parent or guardian and return to the institution for children who reside in the institution.
