The gifted and talented children advisory council shall:
1. Elect a chairperson and vice chairperson from the membership of the advisory council.

- School: means an agency of the state or political subdivision of the state, individual, partnership, company, firm, society, trust, association, corporation, or any combination which meets any of the following criteria:a. See Iowa Code 261B.22. Meet as often as deemed necessary by the advisory council.3. Advise and assist a local board of directors in the establishment of gifted and talented children programs, when requested by the local board.4. Review program plans and proposed budgets for a gifted and talented children program, in consultation with a gifted and talented children consultant employed by the area education agency, when requested by a local board.5. When requested by a local board, evaluate the results of a gifted and talented children program and file a written report together with recommendations for improvement or change with the board of directors of the applicable school district, the area education agency and the department of education. The evaluation shall be conducted by three or more members of the advisory council.
