1. Troops occupying a military district established under martial law may, if necessary, pursue, arrest, and subpoena persons wanted in the military district, anywhere within the state of Iowa.

- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
2. All peace officers of the state shall serve process and execute the orders of a military court in the same way and to the same extent as corresponding instruments of civil courts.
