Terms Used In Iowa Code 29A.50
- Homeland defense: means the protection of state territory, population, and critical infrastructure and assets against attacks from within or without the state. See Iowa Code 29A.1
- Officer: shall mean and include commissioned officers and warrant officers. See Iowa Code 29A.1
The commanding officer and members of any of the military forces engaged in the suppression of an insurrection, assistance to civil authorities in emergencies, homeland defense or security duties, or the enforcement of the laws, shall have the same immunity as peace officers.
