Terms Used In Iowa Code 321G.15
- Days: means calendar days. See Iowa Code 322G.2
- Dealer: means a person engaged in the business of buying, selling, or exchanging snowmobiles required to be registered under this chapter and who has an established place of business for that purpose in this state. See Iowa Code 321G.1
- following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Operate: means to ride in or on, other than as a passenger, use, or control the operation of an all-terrain vehicle in any manner, whether or not the all-terrain vehicle is moving. See Iowa Code 321I.1
- Operate: means to ride in or on, other than as a passenger, use, or control the operation of a snowmobile in any manner, whether or not the snowmobile is moving. See Iowa Code 321G.1
- Snowmobile: means the same as defined in section 321G. See Iowa Code 321I.1
- Snowmobile: means a motorized vehicle weighing less than one thousand pounds which uses sled-type runners or skis, endless belt-type tread with a width of forty-eight inches or less, or any combination of runners, skis, or tread, and is designed for travel on snow or ice. See Iowa Code 321G.1
The commission shall furnish snowmobile dealers with pasteboard cards bearing the words “registration applied for” and space for the date of purchase. An unregistered snowmobile sold by a dealer shall bear one of these cards which entitles the purchaser to operate it for forty-five days immediately following the purchase. The purchaser of a registered snowmobile may operate it for forty-five days immediately following the purchase, without having completed a transfer of registration. A snowmobile dealer shall make application and pay all registration and title fees if applicable on behalf of the purchaser of a snowmobile.
