1. The board, at its first meeting in each year, shall choose one of its members as chairperson who shall preside at all of its meetings during the year. The board may also select a vice chairperson who shall serve during the absence of the chairperson.

Terms Used In Iowa Code 331.211

  • Auditor: means the county auditor or a deputy auditor or employee designated by the county auditor. See Iowa Code 331.101
  • Board: means the board of supervisors of a county. See Iowa Code 331.101
  • Clerk: means the recording and recordkeeping officer of a city regardless of title. See Iowa Code 362.2
  • Clerk: means the clerk of the district court or the clerk's designee. See Iowa Code 331.101
  • year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
 2. The auditor shall serve as clerk to the board unless the board, with the consent of the auditor, appoints a permanent clerk. In the absence of the auditor, the auditor’s designee as clerk, or the permanent clerk, the board may appoint a temporary clerk. The permanent or temporary clerk appointed by the board shall provide the auditor with all information necessary for the auditor to carry out the requirements of section 331.504.
