Terms Used In Iowa Code 331.216
- Board: means the board of supervisors of a county. See Iowa Code 331.101
- Commission: means a body of eligible electors authorized to study, review, analyze, and recommend an alternative form of county government. See Iowa Code 331.101
- Committee: means the county finance committee established in chapter 333A. See Iowa Code 331.421
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- Supervisor: means a member of the board of supervisors. See Iowa Code 331.101
Unless otherwise provided by state statute, a supervisor may serve as a member of any appointive board, commission, or committee of this state, a political subdivision of this state, or a nonprofit corporation or agency receiving county funds.
