- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
505.7A Civil penalties.
Unless specifically provided for in this subtitle, penalties imposed under this subtitle by
order of the commissioner of insurance after hearing shall not exceed one thousand dollars for each act or violation of this subtitle, up to an aggregate of ten thousand dollars, unless the person knew or reasonably should have known the person was in violation of this subtitle, in which case the penalty shall not exceed five thousand dollars for each act or violation, up to an aggregate of fifty thousand dollars in any one six-month period.
