Terms Used In Iowa Code 507D.4

  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • property: includes personal and real property. See Iowa Code 4.1
  • Rule: includes "regulation". See Iowa Code 4.1
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
507D.4 Financing of assistance programs.
The insurance commissioner may, by rule, provide for the financing, as necessary, for any or all programs under sections 507D.2 and 507D.3 by the assessment of fees to insurers authorized to write property, casualty, product, professional, or other liability insurance within this state. The commissioner of insurance may assess fees and charges against persons or entities for costs incurred in providing assistance to the person or entity pursuant to § 507D.3. Fees collected pursuant to such rules shall be used solely for the purposes of the program for which assessed, and are not to be transmitted to the general fund or used for any other purposes.
