Terms Used In Iowa Code 514.3

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
514.3 Approval by commissioner.
The articles of incorporation, and any subsequent amendments, of a corporation shall have
endorsed on or annexed to those articles or amendments the approval of the commissioner of insurance before the same shall be filed for record. A corporation shall file with the commissioner bylaws and subsequent amendments to the bylaws within thirty days of the adoption of the bylaws and amendments.
