Terms Used In Iowa Code 514G.104

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
514G.104 Extraterritorial jurisdiction — group long-term care insurance.
Group long-term care insurance coverage shall not be offered to a resident of this state under a group policy issued in another state unless either this state or another state with statutory and regulatory requirements for long-term care insurance that are substantially similar to those adopted in this state has made a determination that the group to which the policy is issued meets the requirements of § 514G.103, subsection 9, paragraph “”d””.
