- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
523C.20 Consent to service of process.
If a person engages in conduct subject to regulation under this chapter, the conduct shall
constitute the appointment of the commissioner of insurance as the person’s attorney to receive service of process in a noncriminal proceeding against the person, a successor, or personal representative, which grows out of that conduct, with the same force and validity as if made personally. Service of process made on the commissioner as the attorney for service of process shall be made as provided in § 505.30.
