523I.213 Insurance division’s enforcement fund.
A special revenue fund in the state treasury, to be known as the insurance division’s
enforcement fund, is created under the authority of the commissioner. The commissioner shall deposit all examination fees collected pursuant to § 523I.808 in the insurance division’s enforcement fund. The moneys in the enforcement fund shall be retained in the fund. The moneys are appropriated and, subject to authorization by the commissioner, shall be used to pay examiners, examination expenses, investigative expenses, the expenses of consumer education, compliance, and education programs for filers and other regulated persons, and educational or compliance program materials, the expenses of a toll-free telephone line for consumer complaints, and the expenses of receiverships of perpetual care cemeteries established under § 523I.212.
