Terms Used In Iowa Code 548.111

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
548.111 Fraudulent registration.
A person who, either on the person’s own behalf or on behalf of any other person, procures
the filing or registration of a mark in the office of the secretary under this chapter by knowingly making any false or fraudulent representation or declaration, orally or in writing, or by any other fraudulent means, is liable for the damages sustained in consequence of the filing or registration to be recovered by or on behalf of the party injured in district court.
