Terms Used In Iowa Code 602.6602
- Judicial officer: means a supreme court justice, a judge of the court of appeals, a district judge, a district associate judge, an associate juvenile judge, an associate probate judge, or a magistrate. See Iowa Code 4.1
- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1

602.6602 Referees and special masters.
A person who is appointed as a referee or special master, or who otherwise is appointed by a court pursuant to law or court rule to exercise a judicial function, is subject to the supervision of the judicial officer making the appointment.
