Terms Used In Iowa Code 639.66
- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
- Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.
639.66 Appeal from judgment against plaintiff.
If a judgment in the action be also given against the plaintiff, the plaintiff must, within the
same time, take an appeal thereon, or such discharge shall be final.
