  • Mortgagor: The person who pledges property to a creditor as collateral for a loan and who receives the money.
  • property: includes personal and real property. See Iowa Code 4.1
654.6 Deficiency — general execution.
If the mortgaged property does not sell for an amount which is sufficient to satisfy the execution, a general execution may be issued against the mortgagor, unless the parties have stipulated otherwise.
