Terms Used In Iowa Code 661.12

  • Counterclaim: A claim that a defendant makes against a plaintiff.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
661.12 Injunction may issue — joinder.
When the action is brought by a private person, it may be joined with a cause of action for
such an injunction as may be obtained by ordinary proceedings, or with the causes of actions specified in this chapter, but no other joinder and no counterclaim shall be allowed.
