- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
704.12 Use of force in making an arrest.
A peace officer or other person making an arrest or securing an arrested person may use
such force as is permitted by sections 804.8, 804.10, 804.13 and 804.15.
