The department may deny, suspend, or revoke a permit or license, in accordance with chapter 17A, if the permittee or licensee does any of the following:
1. Fraudulently or deceptively obtains or attempts to obtain a permit or license.

- Asbestos project: includes the preparation of the project site and all activities through the transportation of the asbestos-containing materials off the premises. See Iowa Code 88B.1
- Department: means the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing. See Iowa Code 88B.1
- Director: means the director of the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing. See Iowa Code 88B.1
- following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
- License: means an authorization issued by the department permitting an individual person, including a supervisor or contractor, to work on an asbestos project, to inspect buildings for asbestos-containing building materials, to develop management plans, and to act as an asbestos project designer. See Iowa Code 88B.1
- Permit: means an authorization issued by the department permitting a business entity to remove or encapsulate asbestos. See Iowa Code 88B.1
- person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Rule: includes "regulation". See Iowa Code 4.1
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
2. Fails at any time to meet the qualifications for a permit or license or to comply with a rule adopted by the director under this chapter.
3. Fails to meet any applicable federal or state standard for removal or encapsulation of asbestos.
4. Employs or permits an unlicensed or untrained person to work on an asbestos project.
