- Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.
907.10 Release on probation after completing program.
When the court has determined that any person ordered to participate in a locally administered correctional program, pursuant to § 907.3, subsection 1, has successfully completed such program, the court shall order such person to be released on probation.
