Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 12-1930
- City: means any city in the state of Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 12-1922
- Recreation system: means any system of public recreation and playgrounds established pursuant to this act. See Kansas Statutes 12-1922
- School district: means any unified school district in the state of Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 12-1922
The governing body of any city which exercises the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 12-1929, by ordinance, shall provide for the creation of a park and recreation advisory board to be appointed by the governing body of the city. The members of the recreation commission at the time of such combination shall constitute the initial park and recreation advisory board. Members shall serve upon such park and recreation advisory board for the term for which they were appointed to the recreation commission and upon the expiration of the term of any member, appointment shall be made to fill such position for a term of four years. In addition, where the recreation system was being operated by a school district or a school district and city acting jointly prior to combining the park and recreation systems, the city governing body shall appoint two members of the board of education of such school district to the park and recreation advisory board, and such members shall serve for terms concurrent with their terms as members of the board of education.
