The contributions for the cost of the protection which is provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 13-1250a shall be paid by the employees and utility or utilities in such proportions as required by law and such utility or utilities are authorized to pay its part of the cost thereof from its revenues and may, if necessary, adjust its rates to so provide.
