Within ten (10) days after receiving a certificate of the order appointing him to the office of county controller, it shall be the duty of such person to file with the county clerk, a bond in an amount prescribed by the board of county commissioners. Such bond shall be a corporate surety bond executed by a bonding company authorized to do business in the state of Kansas and conditioned that the controller will faithfully perform the duties of his office. The premium on said bond shall be paid by the county.
