Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 22-3903

  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.

The real or personal property against which the order of abatement is sought may be named as a party defendant in a proceeding under this article. In such case, summons shall be served on the owner or person in possession of such property. Any person claiming an interest in the property shall, upon application be permitted to intervene as a party defendant.
