- Commission: means the Kansas human rights commission created by this act. See Kansas Statutes 44-1002
- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
If the commission includes an award of compensatory damages in any final order entered against a respondent after a hearing or if an award of compensatory damages against a respondent is included in a conciliation agreement, the total amount of such damages awarded shall be reduced by the amount of any compensation received by the complainant as a direct result of the alleged act of discrimination from the time the alleged act of discrimination occurred until the time such order is entered or agreement is entered into.
