Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 44-345
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Employer: means any individual, partnership, association, joint stock company, trust, corporation, limited liability company or other organization, the administrator or executor of the estate of a deceased individual, or the receiver, trustee, or successor of any of the same, the state of Kansas or any department, agency or authority of the state, any city, county, school district or other political subdivision, municipality or public corporation and any instrumentality thereof, employing any person. - Principal: means any individual, partnership, association, joint stock company, trust, corporation or administrator or executor of the estate of a deceased individual, or the receiver, trustee or successor thereof, contracting with a commission salesperson to solicit and make sales within this state for merchandise to be shipped into this state or services to be performed within this state. See Kansas Statutes 44-341
In case of violation of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 44-342 by a corporate employer, either the corporation or any officer thereof or any agent having the management of the corporation who knowingly permits the corporation to engage in such violation shall be deemed the principal for purposes of this act.
