Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 47-1702
- Animal: means any live dog, cat, rabbit, rodent, nonhuman primate, bird or other warm-blooded vertebrate or any fish, snake or other cold-blooded vertebrate. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Animal distributor: means any person who operates an animal distributor premises. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Animal distributor premises: means the premises of any person engaged in the business of buying for resale dogs or cats, or both, as a principal or agent, or who holds such distributor's self out to be so engaged. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Commissioner: means the animal health commissioner of the Kansas department of agriculture. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Person: means any individual, association, partnership, corporation or other entity. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
It shall be unlawful for any person to act as or be an animal distributor unless such person has obtained from the commissioner an animal distributor license for each animal distributor premises operated by such person. Application for such license shall be made in writing on a form provided by the commissioner. The license period shall be for the license year ending on September 30 following the issuance date.
