Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 47-1720
- Commissioner: means the animal health commissioner of the Kansas department of agriculture. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Person: means any individual, association, partnership, corporation or other entity. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
- Research facility: means any place, laboratory or institution, except an elementary school, secondary school, college or university, at which any scientific test, experiment or investigation involving the use of any living animal is carried out, conducted or attempted. See Kansas Statutes 47-1701
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a research facility unless such person has obtained from the commissioner a research facility license. Application for such license shall be made in writing on a form provided by the commissioner. The license period shall be for the license year ending on September 30 following the issuance date.
(b) This section shall be part of and supplemental to Kan. Stat. Ann. § 47-1701 et seq., and amendments thereto.
