Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 55-181
- Commission: means the state corporation commission. See Kansas Statutes 55-150
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
In the administration and enforcement of the provisions of this act or any rule, regulation or order promulgated pursuant thereto, the corporation commission, attorney general, any county attorney and courts of general jurisdiction are hereby granted the same power and authority respectively granted under Kan. Stat. Ann. § 55-608, and amendments thereto.
