Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 58-2216
- Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
- Deed: is a pplied to an instrument conveying lands but does not imply a sealed instrument. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Grantor: The person who establishes a trust and places property into it.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
The certificate endorsed upon the deed thus proved must state: First. The title of the court or officer taking the proof. Second. That it was satisfactorily proved that the grantor was dead, or that, for some other cause, the grantor’s attendance could not be procured, in order to make the acknowledgment, or that, having appeared, he or she refused to acknowledge the deed. Third. The names of the witnesses by whom the proof was made, and that it was proved by them that the instrument was executed by the person whose name is thereunto subscribed as a party.
