(a) The state board of mortuary arts may issue temporary embalming permits to out-of-state licensed embalmers for teaching purposes involving an approved continuing education program, or in emergency or disaster situations, as deemed necessary by the board. A temporary embalming permit shall be subject to such conditions and limitations as the board may specify in such permit and as may be specified by law. A temporary embalming permit shall authorize the permit holder to practice embalming subject to the conditions and limitations specified by the board in such permit and the conditions and limitations specified by law.

(b) Each applicant for a temporary embalming permit shall hold an active embalmer license or certificate in another state.

(c) Each application for a temporary embalming permit shall be submitted on forms provided by the board.

(d) Each temporary embalming permit shall be issued for a maximum of 30 days at no cost to the applicant and shall be signed by the president or executive-secretary of the board and attested by the board’s seal.
