Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 65-2406
- Secretary: means the secretary of health and environment. See Kansas Statutes 65-2401
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
- Vital statistics: includes the registration, preparation, transcription, collection, compilation, and preservation of data pertaining to birth, adoption, legitimation, death, stillbirth, marriage, divorce, annulment of marriage, induced termination of pregnancy, and data incidental thereto. The state registrar, under the supervision of the secretary, shall have charge of the collection of vital statistics and be the custodian of all files and records, and perform the duties prescribed by the secretary. The state registrar shall enforce this act and the rules and regulations of the secretary. The state registrar shall submit to the secretary an annual report of the administration of this act.
