Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 66-117f
- Commission: means the state corporation commission. See Kansas Statutes 66-101a
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Public utility: means a public utility as defined by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 66-118a
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
(a) On timely filing of a petition for intervention, any municipality shall be allowed to intervene, on behalf of persons located within the boundary line of such municipality, in any rate proceeding before the state corporation commission that involves the rates of a public utility serving persons located within the boundary line of such municipality.
(b) For the purposes of this section, “municipality” means any county, township, city, school district or other political or taxing subdivision of the state.
