Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-4976

  • Act: means the Kansas deferred retirement option program act;

    (2) "board" means the board of trustees of the Kansas public employees retirement system;

  • compensation: means the same as such term is defined in Kan. See Kansas Statutes 74-49,202
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.

The division of the budget and the governor shall include in the budget and in the budget request for appropriation for personal services the sum required to satisfy the employer’s obligation under this act as certified by the board in the manner prescribed in Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 74-4967 and shall present the same to the legislature for allowance and appropriation. In lieu of the rate of employer contribution for the first year set out in subsection (6) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-4967, the rate of contribution of the Kansas highway patrol during fiscal year 1969 shall be sixteen and eight-tenths percent (16.8%) of the amount of compensation on which members contribute during said period.
