Under the Kansas Statutes, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:| Class | Prison | Fine |

Except as provided in Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 74-5344 and amendments thereto, any person who violates Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 74-5340 and amendments thereto or subsection (c) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-5349 shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor.
