The supreme court chamber located in the southern portion of the third floor of the state capitol building is hereby declared to possess unusual historical interest.

In assigning the use of the space and facilities within the supreme court chamber as authorized and provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-3765a, and amendments thereto, and in providing for the improvement, maintenance, repair and upkeep of such chamber as provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-3763, and amendments thereto, the legislative coordinating council shall maintain and preserve the historic French Renaissance architecture, the hand-carved oak paneling and the general decor of the chamber, including the court bench, furniture, pictures and such other items as may be left by the supreme court in its move to its new quarters.
