Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 76-7,138

  • Board of regents: means the state board of regents provided for in the constitution of this state and described in article 32 of chapter 74 of Kansas Statutes Annotated and amendments thereto. See Kansas Statutes 76-711
  • State: means the state of Kansas. See Kansas Statutes 76-779
  • State educational institution: means the university of Kansas, Kansas state university of agriculture and applied science, Wichita state university, Emporia state university, Pittsburg state university, and Fort Hays state university. See Kansas Statutes 76-711
  • This act: means the university research and development enhancement act. See Kansas Statutes 76-779

As used in this act, the following words and phrases have the following meanings unless a different meaning clearly appears from the content:

(a) “Board of regents” means the state board of regents of the state of Kansas established by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 74-3202a, and amendments thereto.

(b) “Engineering initiative facility” means any facility, including real and personal property, for which the primary purpose is to educate additional engineers and which is under the control of a state educational institution.

(c) ”Secretary” means the secretary of commerce.

(d) “State” means the state of Kansas.

(e) “State educational institution” means Kansas state university of agriculture and applied science, university of Kansas and Wichita state university.

(f) “This act” means the university engineering initiative act.
