All municipal firemen, full paid or volunteer, attending and serving at fires outside the limits of the city, as provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 80-1502, after being ordered or requested to do so by the fire chief or person in charge of the fire department, as authorized in this act, shall be considered as serving in their regular line of duty as fully as if they were serving within the limits of their own municipality, but full-paid firemen shall receive no additional compensation and volunteer firemen shall receive only such compensation as may be provided by ordinance for such cases, and all such firemen shall be entitled to all the benefits of any pension fund, firemen’s relief fund or workmen’s compensation the same as if the fire had been inside the city.
