There shall be established in the Department for Public Health, Cabinet for Health and Family Services, a vital statistics program which shall maintain and operate the only official system of vital statistics in the Commonwealth.

- Cabinet: means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. See Kentucky Statutes 213.011
- System of vital statistics: means the registration, collection, preservation, amendment, and certification of vital records and the collection of other reports required by this chapter. See Kentucky Statutes 213.011
- Vital statistics: means the data derived from certificates and reports of birth, death, stillbirth, abortion, marriage, dissolution of marriage, and related reports. See Kentucky Statutes 213.011
