(1) (a) There is hereby created a restricted fund to be known as the Kentucky Lung
Cancer Screening Program fund.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 214.562

  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Year: means calendar year. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010

(b) The fund shall be administered by the Finance and Administration Cabinet. (c) The fund shall include moneys:
1. Appropriated by the General Assembly for the purpose of the Lung
Cancer Screening Program; and
2. Distributed by the Transportation Cabinet from extra fees associated with the issuance of any special lung cancer license plates.
(2) Moneys in the fund shall be used by the department to administer KRS § 214.560 to
214.564.
(3) Notwithstanding KRS § 45.229, any moneys remaining in the fund at the close of the fiscal year shall not lapse but shall be carried forward into the succeeding fiscal year to be used solely for the purposes established in subsection (2) of this section.
(4) Interest earned on any moneys in the fund shall accrue to the fund.
(5) Moneys in the fund are hereby appropriated solely for the purposes set forth in KRS
214.560 to 214.564.
