Unless otherwise provided in KRS § 272.010(1) and KRS § 272.020 to KRS § 272.044, a cooperative corporation organized with shares shall be subject to the provisions of KRS Chapter 271B, and a cooperative corporation organized with memberships and operated on a nonprofit basis shall be subject to the provisions of KRS § 273.161 to KRS § 273.390.

- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Corporation: may extend and be applied to any corporation, company, partnership, joint stock company, or association. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
