(1) Before a child custody determination is made under KRS § 403.800 to KRS § 403.880, notice and an opportunity to be heard in accordance with the standards of KRS
403.812 shall be given to all persons entitled to notice under the law of this state as in child custody proceedings between residents of this state, any parent whose parental rights have not been previously terminated, and any person having physical custody of the child.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 403.830

  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010

(2) KRS § 403.800 to KRS § 403.880 does not govern the enforceability of a child custody determination made without notice or an opportunity to be heard.
(3) The obligation to join a party and the right to intervene as a party in a child custody proceeding under KRS § 403.800 to KRS § 403.880 are governed by the law of this state as in child custody proceedings between residents of this state.
