(1) Remedies provided by KRS § 407.5101 to KRS § 407.5902 are cumulative and do not affect the availability of remedies under other law or the recognition of a foreign support order on the basis of comity.
(2) The provisions of KRS § 407.5101 to KRS § 407.5902 do not:

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 407.5103

  • Foreign: when applied to a corporation, partnership, limited partnership, business trust, statutory trust, or limited liability company, includes all those incorporated or formed by authority of any other state. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010

(a) Provide the exclusive method of establishing or enforcing a support order under the law of this state; or
(b) Grant a tribunal of this state jurisdiction to render judgment or issue an order relating to child custody or visitation in a proceeding governed under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act as provided in KRS § 407.5101 to
407.5902.
