  • any other state: includes any state, territory, outlying possession, the District of Columbia, and any foreign government or country. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Covered voter: means :
    (a) A uniformed-service voter or an overseas voter who is registered to vote in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Dependent: means an individual recognized as a dependent by a uniformed service. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Equitable: Pertaining to civil suits in "equity" rather than in "law." In English legal history, the courts of "law" could order the payment of damages and could afford no other remedy. See damages. A separate court of "equity" could order someone to do something or to cease to do something. See, e.g., injunction. In American jurisprudence, the federal courts have both legal and equitable power, but the distinction is still an important one.   • Federal postcard application: means the application prescribed under the Registration and Voting by Absent Uniformed Services Voters and Overseas Voters in Elections for Federal Office Act, 52 U. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Federal write-in absentee ballot: means the ballot described in the Registration and Voting by Absent Uniformed Services Voters and Overseas Voters in Elections for Federal Office Act, 52 U. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Military-overseas ballot: means :
    (a) A federal write-in absentee ballot. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Overseas voter: means a United States citizen who is outside the United
    States. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Regular election: means the election in even-numbered years at which members of Congress are elected and the election in odd-numbered years at which state officers are elected. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • State: means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands, or any territory or insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
  • Uniformed service: means :
    (a) Active and reserve components of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine
    Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
  • Uniformed-service voter: means an individual who is qualified to vote and is: (a) A member of the active or reserve components of the Army, Navy, Air
    Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard of the United States who is on
    active duty. See Kentucky Statutes 117A.010
