The Kentucky Trails System shall be administered by the department according to the policies and criteria set forth in KRS § 148.610 to KRS § 148.780. The department shall have the responsibility for maintaining the trails and building bridges, campsites, shelters, and related public-use facilities where required. The department shall establish a trails coordinator to carry out the purposes of KRS § 148.610 to KRS § 148.780.
