Each pupil, or his parent or guardian, shall be responsible to the teacher for all books not returned by the pupil, and a pupil not returning all books delivered to him shall not be entitled to the benefits of KRS § 157.100 to KRS § 157.180 until the books are paid for by the pupil, or his parent or guardian, or accounted for in keeping with the regulations of the Kentucky Board of Education.

- Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
