The provisions of KRS § 198B.400 to KRS § 198B.540 shall not be construed to relieve or lessen the responsibility or liability of any person, partnership, or corporation owning, operating, controlling, maintaining, erecting, constructing, installing, altering, inspecting, testing, or repairing any elevator, fixed guideway system, or other related mechanisms for damages to person or property caused by any specifically related defect.
